Parents As Loving Supporters (PALS)

About Us

PALS (Parents As Loving Supporters) has been a fundamental pillar in GMS(P) in supporting the school’s

programs and activities, and bridging the gap between the school and the parents of the pupils. PALS’ objectives

are to allow the parents to understand the Educational System in Singapore through involvement with every

aspect of their child’s primary school life, to foster a closer bond with the school by supporting the programs

and activities that will help shape and mould their child’s foundational years and to achieve the goal of helping

students grow in friendship, body and mind.

To pursue these objectives, PALS is constantly engaged with the school through active participation in numerous

activities such as Primary One Orientation Day, Primary One First-Day-At-School ushering, Sports Carnivals,

Children’s Day Performance, Teachers’ Day Celebration, Arts Fiesta, weekly Reading Program, Annual Food and

Funfair Carnival and many more.

Apart from these, PALS has also organised numerous activities and outings with the aim to harness family

togetherness and create inter-families relationships and support. For instance to welcome new parent

volunteers, we have organised Chinese New Year Lo Hei Lunch (2011 – 2012) and Welcoming Hi-Tea (2013).

Pupils and their families are invited to join in outings organised by us to the Southern Ridges Nature Walk (2009),

Changi Board Walk cum Picnic (2010), East Coast Road Safety Park (2011), Half Day Educational Tour (2012)

and Treasure Hunt @East Coast (2013), etc.

Together with our 15 dedicated Management Committee members, we have a group of about 20 PALS

volunteers who are doing weekly reading and learning support in the English and Chinese subjects. Our greatest

satisfaction come not from what we can gain through our voluntary services, but what we are able to give with

God-given time, gifts and talents. We can definitely do more and support more pupils with special needs with

more parent volunteers on board.

So support your child’s learning journey in GMS(P) by serving alongside us in PALS. Send in your recruitment
