Rewards & Recognition Awards

1. MSF-Good Steward Award

Donor: Methodist Schools' Foundation (MSF)

Nomination Period: August – September of each academic year

This award is open to graduating P6 students who have demonstrated tenacity in beating the odds to excel in any discipline despite financially needy circumstances, or who have shown meaningful improvement — academic or non-academic — driven by a desire to do better in spite of personal challenges.

2. Mabel Wee (MWee) Award

Donor: Ms Mabel Wee, Past Principal of GMS(P)

Nomination Period: October – November of each academic year

Open to graduating P6 students — including both Singaporeans and non-Singaporeans — who have excelled in both academic and non-academic spheres. Nominees should display exemplary conduct aligned with the school's INSPIRE values, maintain good CCA records, and have made outstanding contributions to their class, school, or community. The award is applicable to students taking standard subjects, foundation subjects, or a combination of both.

3. INSPIRE Award

Donor: Mr Adrian Lee

Nomination Period: November – December of each academic year, after PSLE

Awarded to graduating P6 students who have persevered through and overcome difficult or challenging circumstances, and whose lives serve as a powerful inspiration to others.

4. Irene Tan Outstanding Student Leadership Award

Donor: The Estate of Mdm Irene Tan Liang Kheng

Nomination Period: November – December of each academic year, after PSLE

For graduating P6 students who have served in a student leadership role and led others in a project or task that has had a meaningful impact on the whole school. Nominees should consistently demonstrate compassionate leadership and actively build up others' capacity for leadership and service.

5. Irene Tan Outstanding CCA Leadership Award

Donor: The Estate of Mdm Irene Tan Liang Kheng

Nomination Period: November – December of each academic year, after PSLE

(Inaugurated in 2020)

Similar to the Student Leadership Award above, this award recognises graduating P6 students who have served in a CCA leadership role and led others in a project or task that influences and impacts the whole school, while demonstrating compassionate leadership and a commitment to building others up.

6. Maximise Your Potential Award

Donor: Mr Adrian Lee & team of sponsors

Nomination Period: January of each academic year

Open to P5 and P6 students identified at the start of the school year as having strong potential to excel academically or in a specific area of talent such as sports or the arts. Nominees should demonstrate good conduct and a positive attitude towards learning.

7. Raffles Scholarship

Donor: Raffles Institution

Nomination Period: Semester 2 of the academic year

An obligation-free scholarship for P5 and P6 students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, made possible through the generosity of RI alumni. It aims to ensure that deserving students have the opportunity to excel regardless of their financial circumstances, and supports greater socio-economic diversity within the RI student population.

8. Lee Kuan Yew All-Round Excellence Award

Donor: MOE – Lee Kuan Yew All-Round Excellence Fund

Nomination Period: November – December of each academic year

Open to Singapore Citizens completing their primary education in local schools. The LKY-ARE (Pri) Award recognises well-rounded students who have excelled in both academic and non-academic spheres, and encourages them to continue developing their character, strengths, and contributions to society.

9. Edusave Character Award (ECHA)

Donor: MOE

Nomination Period: November – December of each academic year

For Singapore Citizens who demonstrate exemplary character and outstanding personal qualities through their behaviour and actions. Nominees must consistently demonstrate the school's INSPIRE values, maintain a conduct grade of Very Good or Excellent, and show civic responsibility by initiating actions to improve the lives of others. Resilience is also a key criterion — students who have persevered through difficult circumstances (such as financial hardship, family challenges, or health issues) and achieved commendable results in academic or non-academic domains are strongly encouraged.

10. EAGLES Award

Donor: MOE

Nomination Period: November – December of each academic year

Open to P4, P5, and P6 Singapore Citizens who have passed their school academic examinations and hold a conduct grade of Good or better. Nominations may be made under one of three categories:

Leadership — Students who have assumed leadership appointments in MOE-recognised core activities such as CCA or Student Leadership.

Achievement — Students who have represented their school in MOE-recognised competitions, exhibitions, conferences, or performances (including virtual).

Service — Students who have rendered service to the school or community, completing a minimum number of hours and/or service projects.
