Student Leadership

 

 

CLASS COMMITTEE

The objectives of class committees are to instil a sense of belonging towards the class and school by enabling pupil to discharge their routine duties well and to handle problems that may surface in class, to help develop leadership potential among pupil and uphold the dignity of the school by encouraging pupil to serve their fellow classmates and the school.

 

The Class Committee consists of

  • Aesthetics Monitors
  • Science Monitors
  • PE Monitors
  • Citizenship Ambassadors
  • Health Care Monitors
  • Class Librarians

 

The Class Committee is appointed by the Form Teachers with the advice of the subject teachers.

 

PEER LEADERS, JUNIOR LEADERS AND PREFECTS

These student leaders are selected at the end of the year by the teachers. The selection is based on a set of criteria set by the Character Development Department. They provide support for Character Development Department and other school programmes.

 

PEER LEADERS (P2)

They assist teachers in maintaining discipline in the afternoon session. They perform duties such pre-assembly duties, Value Extraordinaire and pledge taking.

 

PREFECTORIAL BOARD (P3 JUNIOR LEADERS, P4 TO P6 PREFECTS)

The Board consists of P3 Junior Leaders, P4 to P6 Prefects. They perform duties such as pre-assembly duties, recess duties and PSLE duties.

 

PREFECTORIAL BOARD COUNCIL

The head prefect will oversee and plan the management of the board to ensure that the board is running efficiently. This is achieved by having 2 Vice Head Prefects and four other heads, each heading a committee. Each committee (Discipline, Welfare, Logistics and Pastoral Care) has their respective council members allocated to them. The council is involved in the planning of activities and school programmes such as Teachers’ Day celebration, Values Extraordinaire, Assembly Talks, Pupils Suggestion Scheme, etc. They will lead the prefectorial board in the implementation of these programmes and also develop leadership potential among their peers.
