MOE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SCHEME (MOE FAS)

Eligibility

  • Must be a Singapore Citizen
  • Gross Household Income (GHI) not exceeding $2,500 per month OR Per Capita Income (PCI) not exceeding $625 per month

Application Procedures

  • Application is open throughout the year.
  • Parents should obtain the form from the Office.
  • Applications are to be accompanied by:
    - Payslips of all working members in the household
    - Parents with no payslips will be required to submit their income tax statements or CPF contribution statements;
    - Unemployed family members must also write a letter to declare that they are unemployed.
  • If the application is approved, the office will send? the parents? a letter to inform them of the results.

 

Explanatory Notes

  1. Household Income is the total income of family members who stay in the same household or who contribute to the income of the household.? Gross income is income including allowances and employee’s CPF contribution.
  2. Maintenance income received by a divorcee is to be included in household income.
  3. National Service allowance received by NS men, severance compensation and insurance payment are not to be included in household income.
  4. If the income earner is on no-pay leave for a specific period, he/she is not unemployed. His/her monthly income in months when she/he was not on no-pay leave should be assessed.
  5. For students who have no parents and are under the care of their relatives, the relative’s income would have to be taken into consideration if he/she is a legal guardian of the student.
  6. If a family member is unemployed, he needs to submit a letter declaring the month and year when he/she became unemployed.
  7. Siblings in the same school can submit all their applications using one single form.

SCHOOL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SCHEME

Eligibility

  • For MOE FAS pupil whose family needs additional financial support
  • For pupil whose family gross household income exceeds the MOE income limits but is ascertained by the school to be genuinely in need of financial assistance.
  • Applications are processed on a case-by-case basis.

 

Coverage

  • Comes either in Pocket money / Bus bursary / NTUC vouchers

 

Application Procedures

  • Application is open throughout the year.
  • Parents should obtain the form from the Office.
  • Applications ( Not under the MOE FAS Scheme ) are to be accompanied by: -
    - Payslips of all working members in the household
    - Parents with no payslips will be required to submit their income tax statements or CPF contribution statements;
    - Unemployed family members must also write a letter to declare that they are unemployed.
  • If the application is approved, parents? will be notified of the results by letter .

 

To ensure that the support is given to well deserving students, the school expects recipients to ensure that they abide by all school rules and have no serious disciplinary problems. Assistance would be terminated if pupils have disciplinary problems and show poor work attitude or play truancy.

 

NEU PC PLUS PROGRAMME

The PC-Bundle scheme provides a two tier subsidy. Successful applicants can own a new computer with free software and three years of free subscription to broadband services and will only be required to pay a sum starting from *$239 for a desktop or $248 for a laptop.

Eligibility

  • The pupil must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • The pupil is studying in a Government / Government-aided School, Junior College, Centralized Institute, Independent School, ITE, Polytechnic or MOE-registered Special Education Schools.
  • Your household should not have a working PC.
  • Total Gross household income is:
    - does not exceeds $3,000; or
    - per capita monthly income must not exceed $800 ($875 if there is a permanently disabled household member) 
  • Each eligible household can only apply for one computer, regardless of the total number of school-going children and/or household members who have permanent disabilities.
  • The actual amount may be less if additional subsidy is granted from MOE’s Opportunity & Lead Agency’s Opportunity Fund.
  • Subscription fee for unlimited broadband access is free for the first 36 months.
  • Past recipients of a PC bundle under the NEU PC Plus Programme may reapply only after three years from the last deployment to the household.

 

Application

  • Open to all Singaporeans or Permanent Residents.
  • Application is open throughout the year.
  • Parents can obtain the form from the Office.
  • Applications are to be accompanied by:
    - Valid student pass of applicant;
    - Birth certificates/NRICs of applicant & all household members;
    - Payslips of all working members in the household;
    - Parents with no payslips will be required to submit their income tax statements or CPF contribution statements;
    - Unemployed family members must sign a letter of declaration that they are unemployed.
  • Applications are processed by the lead agencies such as CDAC, Mendaki & SINDA, etc who will contact the family directly on the delivery of the PC once the application is approved.
